This song is dedicated to......?

I was reading Kickycan's thread about Beatle's lyrics so, of course, every Beatle's song is stuck in my head today.

Then I caught myself singing "Happiness is a Warm Gun". You know that part that says "When I hold you in my arms and I feel my finger on your trigger...." and it made me think of cjsha's thread "Babes with guns".

So cjsha. This song is going out to you.....

Do certain songs remind you of certain A2Kers?

Why not send out a dedication!?

I try not to associate A2K with reality. Wink

Though I will admit there is a Kinks song that makes me think of Lola.

Colorado Kool-Aid, by Johnny Paycheck.

Well, I was sittin' in this beer joint down in Houston, Texas. Was drinkin' Colorado Kool-Aid and talkin' to some Mexicans, An' we was....what's that you say? What's Colorado Kool-Aid? Well, it's a can of Coors brewed from a mountain stream. It'll set you head on fire an' make your kidneys scream, Oh, it sure is fine. Yeah, we was havin' ourselves one of them real good times.

Dedicated to Gargamel.

Lola is a man!?

Oh, wait, it's just the name that reminds you, huh?

Gargamel reminds me more of Frank Zappa than Johnny Paycheck so I'll toss "Son of Suzy Creamcheese" out to him:

Suzy you were such a sweetie
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Once you were my one and only
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Blow your mind on too much kool-aid
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Took my stash and left me lonely
Yeah, yeah, yeah

There's one thing I want you to do
Especially for me
And it's something everybody needs

Each night before you go to bed, my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me, my baby
And then tell all the stars above:
This is dedicated to the one I love

This is dedicated to the one I love
This is dedicated to the one I love
This is dedicated to the one I love

Well I am all stuffed with fluff (in the brain area), so I can see that. And I guess that's a nicer song than "The Bitch is Back" or something...

Those are good choices for Dys and Edgar.

good choices

to be more specific i'd say the leonard cohen song that most reminds me of edgar is tower of song

and as for dys i'm thinking more waylon jennings, i've always been crazy, maybe ironically because he always seems so sane (at least in my dealings with him)

when i see ehbeth, i hear cyndi lauper and girls just want to have fun, or echo beach by martha & the muffins

back with more later

That war The Angels:

He went away and you hung around
And bothered me every night
And when I wouldn't go out with you
You said things that weren't very nice

My boyfriend's back and you're gonna be in trouble
Hey-la, hey-la, my boyfriend's back
When you see him comin', better cut out on the double
Hey-la, hey-la, my boyfriend's back

You been spreading lies that I was untrue
Hey-la...
So look out now 'cause he's comin' after you
Hey-la...

Hey, he knows what you been tryin'
And he knows that you been lyin'

He's been gone for such a long time
Hey-la...
Now he's back and things'll be fine
Hey-la...

You're gonna be sorry you were ever born
Hey-la...
'Cause he's kinda big and he's awful strong
Hey-la...

Hey, he knows I wasn't cheatin'
Now you're gonna get a beatin'

What made you think he'd believe all your lies?
Aah-ooh, aah-ooh
You're a big man now but he'll cut you down to size
Aah-ooh
Wait and see!

My boyfriend's back, he's gonna save my reputation
Hey-la...
If I were you, I'd take a permanent vacation
Hey-la...

Hey, I can see him comin'
Now you better start a-runnin'

My boyfriend's back, he's gonna save my reputation
Hey-la...
Yeah, my boyfriend's back
Well look out now, my boyfriend's back
Well, I can see him comin' so you better get a-runnin' all right now
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
My boyfriend's back

Edgar is a treasure, but Leonard Cohen songs always remind me of Blatham. They're so exquisitely written.
