Congratulations Reyn. I am deeply saddened that I could not be there at the moment in time that you posted this significant posting so I could toss tinsel and drink champagne. I guess that it is somewhat fitting that Salem, witches and bronze statues should be the subject of your 1000th post.

Personally, my 1000th, 2000th, 3000th and 4000th posts went by totally unnoticed by me or anybody else. I might take note of the 5000th because I will become a veteran at that plateau.

Keep those cards and letters coming in the form of your human interest stories.

When I look back at my life when I'm a crotchety old goat (hmm, maybe I'm that now?), I'll be able to look over to my wife and say, "Dear, you remember way back when in 2005? You know, Junish, or so. I finally got that bloody 1000th post on A2k!"

"What? What you blubbering about? Eat your pablum before it gets cold!. And keep that drool bucket under your chin! 1000th post! What'll you dream up next?"

For some reason, this seems to be important to me. Now I can relax muddle through... Laughing

Hopefully, before I pass on, I'll have contributed some worthwhile stuff to this board.

Tonight I celebrate! I've got another big milestone coming up next month - our mortgage. But, heck, that takes 2nd place to this little victory! Laughing

Nope, not quite yet. The official date is 1 May 2006, but, all things falling in place correctly, I will be going on pre-retirement leave starting the day after 30 Dec 2005.

hehe, If you were really alert, you would have seen a pic of me that I was trying out. The detail was lousy, so I trashed it. One of these days when I get a digital camera I'll get a decent one of me up. :wink:

Ticomaya & Setanta - Thanks to both of you for your kind thoughts and words. I'm actually quite touched and surprised that anyone showed up on this thread and made note of my "event". It was really meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but I certainly appreciate that whatever I have contributed to this little community, it seems to be worthwhile.

Of late, I am making serious efforts to do much more quality stuff. I hope it continues to be of interest to folks.
