Can anyone tell me the answer to 55 down please in the crossword and puzzle collection giant cryptic. Supervises abroad, I hear.I know it is either oversees or overseas.Thank you.

I would plump for OVERSEES.

The answer should also mean "supervises" whilst sounding like the word meaning "abroad".
