How much bamboo does a Panda eat on a daily basis?

Pandas need to consume three quarters of their body weight in bamboo each day. However, overweight pandas are advised to eat only half their weight in bamboo. But this advice is ignored more often than not because, as bears go, pandas are quite willful, especially those unfortunate ones who are genetically predisposed to craving bamboo.

After many generations of being predisposed to reckless abandon concerning their unnatural desire for bamboo, some pandas gave birth to cubs that eventually morphed into giant versions of the species, appropriately called "giant pandas." There have been alternative theories offered to explain the giant panda. One such theory has it that the panda god came down from the heavens and, finding not much to occupy its time down here, began to take notice of the earthly female pandas, and the rest of that sordid tale need not be elaborated on.
