my friends started grooming me in high school

I ran away and didn't pick the same school. The place is notorious for its gruesome hatecrimes and rape. Did I do the right thing? They executed a man in my block and now im worried that im vounerable. There's also alot of gay culture, drugs, human trafficking and abuse in the area.

Advice?

I think you did the right thing. Your "friends" grooming you (find better friends, really) + a horrible place (hatecrimes, rape, executions, drugs, etc. Wtf is this place?!)= bad equation! Anyone would feel vulnerable in this hell. You did well to leave.

Just a little question : do you consider that the presence of the gay culture in this place is also a bad thing as well as drugs, abuses, rapes, drugs, hatecrimes, etc. ?

I think they have some sort of compulsory or psychotic / depressed disorder. But it's very important not to disturb these kind of people or addicts.
