I have a friend that doesnt like U2.
I own 1 album,Despite not owning much of their work I still think they are fabulous, theyhave spanned the music world since the late 70's producing top quality singles which very few bands have done.I think they have earned a place in music history.
Do you either love them or hate them or is there an inbetween?
I liked some of their earlier stuff . . . but now it has gotten to the point where it all just sounds the same to me . . .
Love 'em.
I have several of their CDs and could listen to them all day.
we play a light rock station at work, if i have to hear that vertigo song one more time, may have to kill somebody
If you like listening to commercials, they're fine. I'm with Setanta, they were good in the 80s.
nah, they are much better now! i like being the odd one out! lol
I think U2 is the Metallica of euro-pop. They were mind-blowing and totally original early-on, but their popularity and sense of "we've done it all already" has hindered their creative spirit.
Having said that, my answer is "in between."
Love them, but I do have to agree that many of their current songs sound so similar to past songs, that they have lost some their previous edge (pun intended).
Even so, I still love their music. I even bought scalped tickets in England from some one who could have been selling me fakes for all I knew - luckily I got in - nearly was trampled as the tickets were for general admission on a soccer field in Leeds. Did not go to the bathroom all day and night as my friend and I would have lost our prime spot and each other - and had a most fantastic time ever! I will never do it again though. That was in the mid-eighties - so I am I long standing fan.
I really love U2...though at times I feel I should keep it to myself!
i dont like them at all, i've never been able to find anything interesting about any of their songs.
