continueing of business with china or any other overseas

I am currently trying to do some business with china. we will be bringing truckloads from china to the west coast ports. My only concerns is keeping the identity of the manufacture and the customer under wraps. As you all know, as soon as they find each other out, I am most likely out of the picture.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to best handle this so all key parties will be known only by me.

thank you in advance for your help.

Normally if your suppliers in China ship the goods to you, they will order you as the consignee on the B/L unless you ask them to change to anyone else. This means you are the only man who can receive the goods from the warehouse of the destination port. Also you decide where to distribute these goods. None of your customer knows which Chinese factory you bought from, if you won't tell them. So nothing to be worried, everything is under your control.

thank you for your response.
I would like to avoid getting a warehouse and do a direct shipment to the customer. This way I can save some money in warehousing cost and give the best price to my customer. I know I can tell the manufacture in China, not to put any manifest with their info in the containers, but whats to stop them from doing that. I guess the only way to do is to write contract of "breach of trust". What do u think?
Again thanks for your help.

HI!
We know that each part in modern trade must obey some principles and the most important one is benifit guarantee. So don't worry too much about your situation. If you can not make sure, at least you can do the following now:
1) Contact your shipping forwarder/logistics for the suggestion;
2) Ask your supplier follow your shipping marks and the packing details and/or,
3) Ask somebody in China to check the factory and your goods before shipment for you.

Hi toadleegold,

I understand your concern and I disagree with ai. In today's competitive business enviorment everyone needs to constantly look for the best terms. So yes, if your customer gains information they would be unwise not to make use of it.

Your objective is not to try to hide information from your customers but rather to truly offer them something they can't get on their own. Imagine if you were dealing directly with the factory in China in local language, then your customer would not be able to do anything with the information unless they were Chinese language experts.

My company specializes in helping people such as yourself optimize their importing strategy. We help you move past the trading company, direct to the factory. We make your services truly value added to your customers.
