Najib's lawyer Harvinderjit Singh today started cross-examinations of Muhamad Akmaluddin who has been with CCM since 2007.
Would it be wrong to put a comma after "lawyer" and another after "Singh"?

You really need a comma after"Akmaluddin" just because the sentence is so long. The others are optional.
