Well, there’s no need to avoid these positions, according to Dr Jacob Rajfer, professor of urology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. As he told concerned readers of Men’s Health magazine, recently, most injuries occur if the man isn’t quite ready to go, so: “Reduce your risk by making sure you’re fully erect before penetrating her,” he said.

Is the second sentence a run-on sentence?

Thanks.

@tanguatlay,
It isn't exactly a run-on sentence, but it is rather comma happy. I don't quite get the usage of a colon to preclude what the doctor said.

It could be re-written as:

Recently Dr. School advised Men's Health Magazine, most injuries that a man might incur when he isn't quite ready to go would be to "reduce your risk by making sure you're fully erect before penetration."
