The pogues were sufficiently Irish and drunken to be considered a cool post-pistols punk band I reckon.
Nah but liked Sid and NAncy film and P.I.L. singles.

When they bury rock'n'roll THAT will be on the headstone.
Love the Pistols but the best name ever for a Punk band had to be ....
"You've Got Foetus On Your Breath"
sex pistols are truly amazing. end of. there so great to listen to whether you feel happy or just when the whole world is pissing you off. my favorites are probably anarchy in the UK (riiiiiiiiiiiiiight nowwwwwwwwww mwah ha ha ha), no feelings and bodies (anyone heard the velvet revolver cover?)
whats everyone elses favourites?
Never Mind the Bollocks is a must have for any punk fan. I love the song New York.
Personally though, I think the early Damned were FAR superior to the Pistols. The Pistols, the Clash and the Damned were all in the same scene in England, often exchanging members and forming other short lived projects in the 70s.
Just listen to Damned Damned Damned and Machine Gun Etiquette and tell me if I'm wrong. The Pistols got a lot of publicity with their image and antics, and yeah they got some good songs. But the Damned were faster, louder, tighter and had much more depth.
i rather liked the sex pistols, i actually quite like the mess that is the great rock and roll swindle lp
the damned were also great, but for my money the buzzcocks ruled
orgasm addict is a great tune, and this song rocks
WHAT DO I GET?
Lyrics: Pete Shelley
i just want a lover like any other
what do i get
i only want a friend who will stay to the end
what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
i'm in distress i need a caress
what do i get
i'm not on the make i just need a break
what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
i only get sleepless nights
alone here in my half-empty bed
for you things seem to turn out right
i wish they'd only happen to me instead
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
[solo]
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
i only get sleepless nights
alone here in my half-empty bed
for you things seem to turn out right
i wish they'd only happen to me instead
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
i just want a lover like any other
what do i get
i only want a friend who will love to the end
what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
what do i get
oh oh what do i get
well let me tell you now
i get
no love
i get
no sleep at nights
i get
nothing that's nice
i get
nothing at all
at all,at all,at all at all,at all,at all
cos i don't
get you

how do you feel about new punk artists then basket case. ur name suggests ur a greenday fan, true?
The English punk scene was more interesting than in the U.S., but let's please pay our respects to the Ramones, three of whose original members are, alas, no longer with us.
"I don't wanna be a pinhead no more,
I just met a nurse that I could for..."
Poetry...
"Hey daddy-o
I don't wanna go
Down to the basement.
There's something down there.
O Romeo."
DO YOU REMEMBER ROCK'N'ROLL RADIO
The Ramones
Do you remember Hullabaloo,
Upbeat, Shindig and Ed Sullivan too?.
Do You Remember Rock'N'Roll radio?
Do You Remember Rock'N'Roll radio?
Do you remember Murray the K,
Alan Freed, and high energy?
It's the end, the end of the 70's.
It's the end, the end of the century.
Do you remember lying in bed with your covers
Pulled up over your head? Radio playin' so one can see.
We need change, we need it fast before rock's just part
Of the past. 'Cause lately it all sound the same to me.
Oh-oh. Will you remember Jerry Lee,
John Lennon, T. Rex and Ol' Moulty?
It's the end, the end of the 70's.
It's the end, the end of the century.
D'artagnan,
interesting song about Joey Ramone on the latest New Order record.
Yeah?
Have y'all seen "End of the Century," the latest Ramones documentary? Sad, but great concert footage, with lyrics superimposed on screen.
Also footage of The Stooges, who often take #1 in my mind, though The Ramones, Damned, are all in competetion for that spot.
Lately have been getting a bit into 80s punk, though I prefer the classic stuff. But I have been laughing at and digging Fear and rocking out to The Germs.
Oh, and the Dead Kennedys.
