I'm in Oklahoma City now. Been here about 6 weeks already. I know what you mean about the mosquitos!! Ack! In six weeks time I have been bitten by mosquitos, chiggers (what the heck ARE those anyway?) and a tick. I really do love the heat though! Smile

Hey, fellow Okies!

Just drove through Lawton and OKC on Monday, on the way back from visiting in-laws in Wichita Falls. Seems we all live on I-44, doesn't it?

Lawton, Joa? Ft. Sill, by chance? If you have to be in Western Oklahoma, Lawton is the best place. At least you have the mountains. And it's only an hour to OKC for great shopping, etc.

Lady J, I grew up in OKC...first lived near the Capitol, then moved northwest near Baptist Hospital. Where are you? BTW, chiggers are tinytinytiny red bugs, barely visible, but they cause the WORST itching. I recommend Benadryl Extra-Strength Anti-Itch Spray. Rub it in real good. And stay out of tall grass & woods. I'm a mosquito magnet, so I never go outdoors without OFF.

Eva and Lady J, don't get me wrong. I think I'd have a blast if I lived in OKC. Smile ...I just don't. So there's a mall. The "mall" doesn't even have a GAP. Laughing Laughing

I guess I've been spoiled by HEB and Target. I miss those 2 places so much. Smile

We go to OKC almost every weekend to "get away." I love the restaurants there such as Panera Bread and Atlantic Bread. Yum.

We just got back from our honeymoon in Telluride, CO. It was beautiful. The weather there in the summer is perfect. Our skin cleared up since we went from extremely humid to dry air. yes. We went by Oprah's old home and Tom Cruise's, which I thought was pretty cool.

Thanks for everyone's kind words! And for the record, Yuki is doing great. haha She's the sweetest and most loveable dog ever. This does not mean brightest or most behaved. Twisted Evil

What adorable pictures!

Next time you go to OKC, check out the restaurants in the Bricktown area (downtown) and on Western Avenue in the northwest part of town. Lots of good ones.

And yes, Target is the best! (Thumbs up!) Waaaay better than KMart or Wal-Mart or any of those. Remember to check there first when you start buying baby stuff.
