A previous flatmate of mine (my prior apartment) had one. When he moved to Florida after his father died and I was in the process of taking over the apartment lease (a long shot I admit), the landlord found out my flatmate had the waterbed (something that he had for the 14+ years living in the flat) and was really angry because of its existence and the dangers of having it on the third floor of a small apartment building (uninsured).
He dismantled it and disposed of the remains in the process of getting ready to move his several ton of acquired crap.
I did not get the apartment. The waterbed ... very likely wasn't the killing blow in me not getting to reside there despite living thee for almost 4 years... definitely did not help my cause.
