gonna go out on a limb here with an outrageous proposition that there might be a genetic imperative involved.

Though I confess that organ harvesting is a much better notion.

Take 1 million couples. You'll have 1 to 2 million different reasons (depending on the couple and individual parent in question).

As Mother said, many times, the purpose was to have people who could take care of her when she got old. Specifically, people to do it for free.

Some good, some not so much.

Besides, parents aren't a concern when it comes to the pill. A quick trip to Planned Parenthood keeps things safe, easy and private for Maximo and Maxine


(and remember, condoms do break)

For some people (myself among them) you can adapt your life without kids. Volunteering, and possibly fostering can be solutions that satisfy. Whereas, having children can be a lifetime of responsibilities and commitment.
