1st charge of human smuggling in Canada

Vancouver man charged with human smuggling

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) -- Police say a Vancouver man is now the first person to be charged in Canada with trafficking in humans.
The alleged cases of human trafficking were uncovered by an assault call outside a Vancouver massage parlor in May of last year.

It was determined those victims were also possible victims of human trafficking.

42 year old Wai Chi Michael Ng of Vancouver is now charged with a variety of offences including human trafficking.
