Hello,
I just set a new facebook page and I want to set a unique url for it.

The name contains the word "cannabis" and fb says that this word is not allowed. Nevertheless, my random url, awarded by fb itself, does contain the word cannabis and so do the urls of thousands other pages.

So, what's the way to skip this?

thanks

@Gizano,
Misspell Cannabis.

@jespah,
It needs to be right. It's the brand.

What's more, like I said, I see the competition having the name Cannabis in their url. That means it's doable.

Anybody know the way to do it right?

Not necessarily. Maybe they were grandfathered in and were allowed to keep an older FB group or company name after the restriction against its use came into policy.

Not failing to mention that this literally isn't Facebook tech support either.

Maybe you should ask Facebook technical support? I would imagine they know the right way to do this.

@Linkat,
The other pages, containing the word, are brand new, too.

I asked at the fb technical support and I don't even get views, let alone an answer.

:/

@tsarstepan,
It's also possible a 1 or l is taking place of the I, or a 5 is taking the place of the S.

@jespah,
I suspect that the person in question... doesn't even have any proper LLC or similar accreditations to back up his claim of so-called corporate branding.

Too much info is missing from the equation:
What is the nature of said Facebook page?
Is it trying to sell cannabis based products? Doing so … legally within its own regional borders? Illegally by selling to states where marijuana isn't allowed to be sold for medical or casual purposes?

And as you stated, creative branding also maybe the loophole for existing Facebook pages to get around content restrictions.
