In this song, I'm Not Lisa I am compelled to wonder about the mental state of the singer, Jessi Colter. She sings that she is 'not Lisa' then claims her name is 'Julie'. Since Jessi is singing, I am now more confused than she might be.

This song was written by Robbie Robertson, a so-called status Indian from a reserve in Ontario. It is sung by Levon Helm, the Band's drummer and lead vocalist on many songs--a native of Arkansas, he sounds like he might be Virgil Caine.
