I was checking the voltage on a dryer plug and both legs read 160 volts and both legs read 320 volts. I know the voltage varies but I thought it should be maybe 10 volts not 50 volts over on each leg. Is this something I can fix or is it the electric companies problem?
@robertpierson,
If your house voltage was really 160VAC, you would be having a lot of problems since this would affect all your house power. I would check the calibration on your meter. Why were you checking it in the first place? Do you suspect a problem?
