I think the microcosms have been very interesting:
Centerburg High School
MNI
Marlboro something or other
xFamily
Guncontrol opponents
Latin translation (this doesn't really count as they are just finding a resource as what it was intended to be).
Any other niche influxes?
neopets
bostonians...? nah
deprovera
my husband's addicted to porn
estrostep is coming along
Centerburg and MNI seem to be the best examples though in terms of being in their own little world on A2K
Oh, rap battlers.
Ah, some good ones! I think it rocks that some of them are perfectly comfortable as a microcosm and for the most part don't disrupt and are respectful.
Oh, Abuzz so counts (don't let the Abuzzers figure out that they have been in the minority since shortly after a2k's inception though).
People looking for song lyrics.
The high school debaters.
The antievolutionists.
emode IQ tests was one, phpbb seo is another....
People looking to Craven to help with their forums, not sure if you would consider it a microcosm but it seems there has been an influx lately.
Add Forteo to Estrostep and Deprovera. The Forteo people tend not to come back and report; haven't followed the other two.
cat people.
Actually, there is also a little nook in Australia, or two - one for people moving to bluddy Sydney - the other we Ozzian political folk - who natter to each other about home politics, thanks to Msolga, with seldom a visitor from another part of the site.
But we, on the other hand, break out and infest the site in general - like kangaroo rats.
It is like we have a bat cave.
<some of us read your politics thread but don't pipe up, having nothing useful to say - but cats!!!>

Gasp!!!
You pierce our thickets, through our grots you glide????!!!!
(Kiddin' - we like visitors - generally....)
Yeah, once in a while I do, it's sort of interesting, y'know... certain parallels occur twixt here and there.
The rappers are certainly in their own little world.
I think these microcosms are a pretty neat deal. Not so much in the sense that any of 'em stands out particularly from the rest, or from the rest of the site, but in the sense that they exist and thrive in their many variants. And while some pretty much are communities unto themselves, folks sometimes wander from them out into the bigger, overall site, and likewise, general members frequently drop into the microcosms. Quite a few interestin', lively discussions have sprung from such cross-pollination.
Hello, I am seeking the advice of Craven De Vere, regarding my use of this Forum site.
My interests include imposing my Religeous beliefs on other people whilst dressed as a schoolgirl, believing that we all descended from apes, composing Rap songs in Latin about Australian politics, polishing my collection of guns whilst solving an IQ question, breeding cats and watching fifteen hours of hardcore porn each day.
Would you be able to suggest a thread that would suit my needs ?
Ellpus.
thatll be exotic accoutrement old STump. We relay messages in a brilliant sort of "code" regarding "getting off whilst wearing spandex lycra". Quite harmless to the unitiated. Iam sitting here bedecked in just my epaulettes sitting in a leather chair lubed in Mazola. What/
used to have some good mixemups in US civil war history. Quite lively but became unsustainable as resource intensive as it was.
Always possible to find dueling scholars with equal credibility.
I miss the diesel car and Camaro v Mustang colloquies, they were always one line North of brilliant prose.
At least two of the CHS crowd are asking about Young Love in Relationships & Marriage--spoors flung from the mother fern to other climes.

Yes.
... & don't forget the free service we provide for the multitudes wanting to migrate to Oz! Are the potential migrators to Oz a category of their own?
