I agree with Msolga's point, and have burned my feet with the same point of view, that people don't need to be cool or popular to post here, and so I gather we are both wary of threads that work out as popularity contests, not for ourselves but for those not seemingly caught up in the communicative swim.
I have pretty much backed off, as in what the hell, that is how high school and the rest of life works and much of it is fun, and now msolga pops up with the same sort of qualms.
Neither of us wants to close out coolness or sexyness but we are, I am guessing, both aware of people feeling excluded.
After my winesotted forays to whine about people raving about sexiness, which I was feeling abashed about by the next morning, I found a lot of messages supporting me.
Sooooooo - my irritability point was a few weeks ago and Msolga is posting on it now.
To speak for myself, I am equilibrating around to why don't I shut up, like people on threads ask - to some extent I agree, the threads are for fun and socialization, and it's certainly true people don't have to post if they don't feel sexy or cool or brave enough to confront the question.
Still, I guess I want to be able to prick the self assurance of the presently cool anointedly sexy.
Of course, I happen to personally be cool and sexy over time. But I know that doesn't amount to much.

Lest newer folk feel shut out, Setanta is in many ways at the heart of us, and not seen lately.. a treasure trove of history and smarts. A tad acerbic at times. He is one of our feet.
