My question is that why there are so much hatred toward femininity here in our community? (No fem; "if I want a woman, i'd date one" kind of thing). When I think of a feminine men, I would imagine a men who is soft-spoken, sweet, amiable, nurturing, sensitive, twink-est and kinda fragile. Of course, everyone has a preference, but why those traits are such a deal breaker for majority of gay men? Are those trait that much undesirable?
I'm a gay men, for most of my life so far I identified myself as a versatile- neither top or bot. I'm attracted to both masculinity and femininity in a men. I tend to prefer the more masculine one when I'm bot, and the more feminine the better one when I'm top.
@dviethoang,
It might be a reaction to the realities of past gay culture when lots of gay and gay-curious men were pretty strictly closeted and gays who were "out" needed to assume fem characteristics in order to attract attention and advertise their sexuality. Gay men growing up in our more open and accepting culture, not seeing the need for this, might see it as an unnecessary charade, although I know there were always gay men who resented the effeminate stereotype.
because gay guys don't like girls at all or would not be gay
I don’t have any feelings one way or the other, I just don’t like the affective “bitchiness” diva demeanor - whether that’s from a male or female. So unbecoming and exaggerated meanness and very attention seeking.
