About legal age of people in porn videos

When I was a teen, I was interested in watching porn. Out of curiosity, I used to watch different varieties and in particular, those involving teens (both boys and girls) and older people. Later I lost interest and stopped watching them. Of late, I became aware of the fact that some people don't strictly follow the minimum legal age of 18 criteria and still upload those videos. As far as I remember, I used to make sure that I wasn't watching those involving minors. But of course, as a viewer we can't know the exact age of those involved. So I was wondering if it does put as at fault in such cases where the video header clearly says that they are above 18 years of age whereas in reality, they are not.

I have stopped watching porn long back but I have been thinking lately a lot about these things after reading some news articles about how some young girls get sucked into porn industry and stuff. As such, I started feeling guilty for watching porn though I never had any bad intent and always tried my best to avoid shady porn. Of course, as teenagers are not aware of all these complicated issues, one cannot expect them to be so rational regarding this at such an young age. Moreover, at an young age I used to watch out of curiosity but learning that there can be so many secrets behind even the normal porn that we all watch is a little unsettling. So I just wanted to know your views about this as this is something everyone of those who watched porn must have faced sometime

This would be a good example of a Homeland Security agent baiting a hook looking for perverts.

And this ^ would be a good example of excessive paranoia. Where's the "bait"? There's nothing remotely illegal about discussing the existence of underage performers in adult entertainment videos. And I seriously doubt that hunting for perverts is within Homeland Security's purview.

@McGentrix,
The mission of Homeland Security, from their website:

1 Prevent terrorism and enhancing security
2. Secure and manage our borders
3. Enforce and administer our immigration laws
4. Safeguard and secure cyberspace
5. Ensure resilience to disasters

And if you think #4 might be relevant, it isn't:

1. analyze and reduce cyber threats and vulnerabilities;
2. distribute threat warnings; and
3. coordinate the response to cyber incidents to ensure that our computers, networks, and cyber systems remain safe.

In any case, cultural problems won't simply disappear if people are prohibited from mentioning or discussing them.

@hightor,
New account, never posted before, only post is about kiddie porn. This "user" is looking for someone to pm with about finding more kiddie porn or looking to distribute it. If you can't reasonably see that, you've got your head too far somewhere.

In all actuality, the original post should have been deleted.

Underage porn is part of the FBI’s mission.

How so? Making movies or stopping them? Please clarify your remark, and please, no video clips.

@McGentrix,
Lots of people show up here, make one post, and aren't heard from again. Usually the topics concern conspiracies, religion, sex, or drugs and when no one makes a serious response they give up. I don't consider that suspicious.

No, it only need be ignored.

Rule 1 No Illegal Content

This includes anything from copyright infringements to child pornography etc. This does not necessarily mean discussion about illegal activities (e.g. discussing drug use, or drunk driving or crime stories), but content that is illegal for us to host.

As I said, problems don't cease to exist simply because we choose not to talk about them. I wouldn't have even bothered looking at the topic except that I saw that you'd made a response and was curious as to what you had to say.

And I think we can safely assume that Homeland Security has nothing to do with this.
