I really wanted to find some more rare photos that don't usually show up on sites like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. Thank you!!

What do you mean by "safe"?
This could mean you are worried about law-enforcement. It could also mean you are worried about hackers. And, it could mean you are worried about getting offensive content.

You'll probably need to search academic and nonprofit archives (many are online):
The Library of Congress; many big city museums have online picture archives; etc....
Or move to paid services like Getty Images where you have to license the image if you plan on publishing it in a for profit project.
I suspect this thread might be call-and-response spam.
