In the Medicine King chapter of the Lotus Sutra, the Buddha instructs the start of propagation of the Lotus Dharma: “In the fifth Five-hundred years after the Buddha’s passing”.
Would it be wrong if the bold part were rephrased as "fifth five hundred years"?
Thanks.
Is there some kind of significance to 500 year increments?
If so, then the “event” needs its designation and deserves to be capitalized.
