Please let me know if the following sentence is correct -
"I would wish to play the piano as I used to do before".

In the terminology of linguists (and a right screwed-up terminology it is) your "I would wish to . . ." employs the modal verb form to express the wish for a future outcome. Therefore, the sentence is correct--as long as it fits the context of the rest of the text of which it is a part. There is nothing extraordinary about the use of that locution.
