@Tusha123,
Drive to Hammersmith, park up then use the tube. That's the advice I give to my friends and neighbours because they all live near the M3.

Your question is so vague as to be meaningless, people want different things from a trip have different priorities.

@Tusha123,
It has been a while since I traveled to London but I used to travel their quite a bit.

I agree it depends on what your idea of a trip is - how to do it inexpensive can be a whole lot different than someone who wants to pain the town.

In general - get a tube pass - it is cheaper and easier to get around the system is pretty easy to learn and people are willing to help if you just ask.

They usually have some really good theater - and you can often get last minute tickets often pretty inexpensive.

My favorite tourist site right in London - Tower of London.

My favorite oddball thing to do - Speakers Corner - and if I remember correctly I think Sunday's are the best day (do a quick search to see).

Food - I would try Indian food - London has a big population of Indians so the Indian food is particularly good.

Music - there is also a great variety of music venues again so much depends on what your interests are.

That is just my first high level since I really do not know what you are interested in and if you plan on traveling at all outside of London.

I believe that you keep your pinkie holstered when drinking iced tea. Can anyone verify this cardinal law?

Tips for traveling to London
Explore London's Lungs. London has more open space and green space than most major capital cities and the parks vary hugely in flavour. ...
Walk! ...
Keep off the main drags. ...
Understand a little of the history. ...
Do not blitzkrieg sights. ...
Do not try too hard to find the "real" London. ...
Buy an Oyster Card.

@tsarstepan,
I never do. I only drink hot tea, usually from a mug. There is some iced tea available usually carbonated in bottles, but it's not something most people go for, and you won't be able to get it in restaurants.

If you can think outside of 1950s stereotypes you'll have a better time.

Actually when of the key tips in London -

When crossing the street - look right!
When going onto the tube - mind the gap!

These two things have saved my life.

We are in agreement. Tea is best served out of a mug. Because you can drink larger quantities at any given time. And tea is quite delicious and not to be sipped daintily.
