@Ponderer,
That's a good one ponderer.

The kings would be T-Rex, the pawns little micro-raptors, the queen a brontosaurus.

Hey look!

They have them already!

Cool!

@Ponderer,
Actually ponderer, I'm not looking for a "display" of something, as evidenced by my hearts desire of baby heads and body parts.

I'm looking for objects that will fill up the 5 or 6 inch deep, coffee table size area. Objects that are quirky, unexpected, can be kinda creepy, or not.

That's why I mentioned I saw chinese take out food containers on ebay for cheap, along with wrapped fortune cookies and chopsticks.

Not sure why people aren't reading that, since I've said it numerous times now.

I'm looking for unexpected stuff, like your dinosauers. or doll parts, other oddities.

@chai2,
You might try going to a dollar store to check out their dolls.

Some even advertise their wares online--like these Barbie-type dolls that are only $1 each at Dollar Tree.

Other dollar stores might have baby dolls or other types of dolls and you could mix them together.

You could take the dolls apart--separate the heads from the bodies, the limbs from the torsos--get some interesting different size bowls in the dollar store and fill one (or more) with some heads, and others with the limbs. When you get bored with that, you can fill the bowls with something else.

@firefly,
You know firefly, I did think of the dollar store.

I'm glad you mentioned the bowls. If they were large shallow ones, with a good background/pattern, even a few heads a piece would work.

I was thinking that at even a dollar per doll, it would get pretty pricey to fill the space.

However, if I took up quite a bit of space with bowls or such, that would really help.

They don't have big baby doll heads though.

I would go nuts if I could find these, but I'm sure they're expensive.

@chai2,
Years ago, I was walking a trail through the greenbelt here, and came upon a stacked pile of river rock stones someone had put up. There were several of them along the path, and I was enjoying coming across them.

Then, I came upon one stack that had a dolls arm reaching out from between a cairn of stones, and I was delighted. A little further found the head on a pike.

It was a great day.
