Thunderbird installation

When I try to install Thunderbird for my email I am asked for my Outgoing Server address: "Enter the address of the mail server that handles the mail you send (e.g. smtp.earthlink.net). Your mail provider should supply you with this information."

I use MSN/IE and inquired of them about this, but got the response that they have no idea what I mean. Can anyone tell me what I should enter as Outgoing Server, or else where I can find out?

I know there are some very happy Firefox/Thunderbird people here; perhaps one of them could help me out?

Thanks. Confused

Some e-mail providers can't be used within such programs like Thunderbird / Outlook. Like AOL.

Not much help but just a thought..

Some A2K members have Firefox/Thunderbird and IE, so I know it can be done. I just need to know what that mail server address would be.
