No, I was saying that other countries watch more television, movies that are not domestically produced. About 40%, if not more, of what appears on our television is American. We're familiar with how Americans talk, the reverse is not true.

Having said that standard international English based on UK English is taught throughout the commonwealth, but the English taught in non English speaking countries varies. You can tell what English a non native speaker was taught by their accent some sound more American, others sound more English.

And many have their own accents.

Some of your vowels come out as Latin vowels, like in the words "this" and "instrument" in the first sentence. They sound like "thees" and "eenstrument."

Is there a reason why you said:

Is it because of exposure or there are other reasons?

Exposure. I'll give a personal example. The Geordie accent is one of the most difficult to master. The only reason I can speak it is because I lived in Newcastle for three years. Even then it took me about six months before I could pass as a local.
