A woman fell into a coma after being hit by an electronic bicycle.

Is the bold part OK or should it be "after she was hit"?

Thanks.

That is acceptable, and even a common construction.

Henry began looking for employment after having been sent down from Cambridge.

The pedestrian staggered having narrowly avoided the car that ran the red light.

I was skeptical, having read his earlier books.
