Is anyone else having a problem signing in to MSN messenger right now?
I'm having problems for signing in. I can't even check the server status because it displays an error.

Thanks for the reply Joe. It appears to be off the air.
My messenger crashed a few months ago and nothing I've tried has helped, so I hope you have better luck then I've had.
When I try checking the service status it tells me that the server is too busy.
I've been having problems with it on and off for the past couple of days.
I remember you saying that. Did you try downloading and installing the newest version? I'm using 6.2. MSN seems to have lots of problems keeping this service up and running.
mine died too. I can't get on and I emailed their help people and got no response.

I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the newest version and that won't run either. I don't know what the problem is. Bizarre.
Well, right now I think the service is unavailable. Try again later.
Yes, I tried to re-install it several times with no luck. I just gave up and was grateful that most of the people I had on MSN IM were also on my Yahoo IM.
Mine won't connect either. It tries for thirty seconds and stops with the little icon getting "x'd" out. It keeps retrying every ten minutes or so, but always ends with the "x". One of these automatic tries will hopefully end in success sooner or later.
You can get status here. Right now, it's displaying an error message.

All's now well with my messenger. Hope yours are O.K. too.
Nope, and that status link is still bringing up an error.
Very interesting. My messenger is still working, but when I click on "messenger service status" I get the "no service" message.
When I try to sign in I get a message asking me if I want to install a "newer version" of Messenger. I download it, try to sign in again .... then get asked if I want to install the newer version AGAIN .... This has been going on for a while now.
I downloaded and installed it today, it's a required upgrade (security fix). Works now.
How did you do that, cjhsa? I'm still getting the "newer version available" message each I log onto the net. <sigh>
Mine has been doing that too. It went for about 4 days not being able to log onto it. Then all of a sudden it would. I was getting error messages that said I needed to check my internet connection.
Thanks, makemeshiver33. I'll try again when I'm feeling up to the challenge
