You're not "wrong" to feel the way you feel but just because you're at home that doesn't mean that the feelings of housemates can be ignored. I think it's sort of slovenly. Why not don a comfortable pair of shorts or even bathing trunks? Strutting around in your underpants over the objections of your family sounds mildly sociopathic.

This seems like an awfully stupid thing to screw up your family life over. Get a comfy pair of shorts and a pair of slippers.

Of course, if you you want to screw up your family life... then carry on.

How about going commando in really loose sweatpants or shorts? Might be a fair compromise for all.

What is so hard about putting on a pair of baggy gym shorts instead -- you should be just as comfortable and make the women in your life a bit more happy.

But I do have a sense of decorum and cover up in front of my family. I don't want their eyes to bleed seeing me in all my glory. So, put some pants on. Nobody needs to know what is, or not is, underneath.
