Firefox and Thunderbird

Perhaps I'm just not seeing it, but I can't find any information that will help me distinguish between Firefox and Thunderbird. If Firefox is installed is Thunderbird a) necessary; b) helpful; c)complementary? Confused

Also, does anyone know if the MSN address book can be transferred to either of these?

Thanks.

firefox is the browser and thunderbird is the email client just like microsoft outlook or outlook express. U have to D/L both separately. Once installed, they may share some files for running each application.
