confused about my crush,pls help?

There is a guy i meet around 1 month ago. He is the mysterious type.We started texting and I asked him to hang out with me one time and we spent few hours together during night,talking.
We didnt meet each other for around 2 weeks after that due to our schedule (work and other activities)

The weird thing is we kept texting over these weeks and when i asked him out again over text he said things like "um.." me: "what?" he: "nothing. I think you think its too soon for you to come at my place. I know you want to know me better. But I dont bite people,only if they leave me. And beside that you must go to work tomorrow too"
And then he tried to describe my ideal partner that he thinks would fit me and he said he wants the same things in a partner like he described to me and started to tell me about all his personality traits he has,good and bad.

I took this as a hint that he likes me. So next day... I confessed to him over text.and i put an emoji that means shy but he didnt know what it means so his reply was just like "what means that *the emoji* ?"

Then I changed the topic.. And we kept talking random stuff when i asked him if he likes travel. and he said like "i dont have motivation to go or someone with the same feeling." I told him that he would have,but depends on who he wants to accept beside him and he said "i really dont trust in nobody" and then i told him "about what i said earlier..maybe its too soon for you.." and he said "nothing is too soon for me. I dont feel disturbed by what you said. Why did you feel a mix of emotions?" (i was embarassed,shy,sad coz i felt like he rejected me indirectly and told him the way i felt at that time)

A mutual friend of us said he will never chase a girl first and that he is always waiting for girls to do the first move instead etc

I asked him again after that "so would you like to go out at the end of this week?" and he said "this week is quite long for me lol"
It was the last message from last night. Coz i felt asleep and read it only in morning

He is not a popular person and i feel like we really get along so well and even think the same way and he liked my pics few times.
I feel like he is just trying to play tough or wants me to see how long will i stay by his side so he'll can gain the trust in me. Or actually he is simply not interested?
