wooden floats

My Father was a bottle hunter/digger. Among the other things he found are some wooden floats, most likely used for fishing with nets. I have been able to find images of one of these, a cylindrical pole about 2..5' long with notches on either end. Two others, with a single arrowhead shaped end where the notch is (similar in appearance to an arrowhead's notch) and rather wide toward the unnotched end, have eluded my searches. I would like to find the approximate age and origin of these. They were probably found in the Florida Keys, but their origin could be elsewhere (flotsam from some distant region).

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a photo, but do not see how to post it.

@keyfinder,
You mean something like this?

Oh, and you'll need to host an image and then paste the link her. Places like imgur do that for free.

@ehBeth,
Thanks, but the floats I have are quite different from the ones in your photo and, I think, much older.

I have put the photo up on Google+, but apparently have not been successful in getting the link to work. Trying again:

@keyfinder,
Those are fascinating, and don't look like anything used in commercial fishing. There were extensive Native American coastal communities along the Florida coast and rising sea levels are exposing the remains of old campsites by washing away the sand which covered them for years. If these are prehistoric artifacts the Florida Public Archaeology Network might be able to identify them.
