I am now trying to sling with some accuracy. I'm throwing at a vague target about 30 yards away, the same distance as from home plate to first base. I can still throw a rock with my hand with more consistent accuracy than with a sling. But distance wise, I can still sling about twice as far as I can throw.

I'm 75 now, and walk about a mile and a half everyday in a wild area near my house. I've taken on making and using slings, because it gives me a sense of empowerment. I can sling a rock around 80 yards, which to me is pretty far. It's a lot of fun.
