i was excited that you were excited. i was trying to get an avatar to work and then the site won't let me p.m. you back. i can read what you p.m. me, but apparently, i'm too new to reply. (or the authorities - managers/moderators have been properly warned about my presence - hehe)

LMAO!

I thought I skeered you away. Craven would have bounced me from the site.

I'm happy you're happy that I was happy.

We have talked about you. And MISSED you.

Will you give me a synopsis of where you've been? Two to three years should be...about a twenty page essay.

PS-- I'll see if we can get your PMs enabled. If Craven was here, he'd do it--but he has become very powerful--and stays in repose in a dark room in a very technologically superior tower. He has employees. They know not of your special significance to the Master.

so the master is sitting in the dark tower pulling subtle strings and watching the peons dance??

in response to your request for an essay - my son's mom (who wasn't that great to start out with) went all to h#ll. found out my kid was being abused and pretty much put my efforts into getting him away from her. i went from being a weekend daddy to a 24/7/365 dad and have racked up over $12,000 U.S.D in legal fees, but it was worth it. how many dads have solitary legal and physical custody?? she still gets him for 2 days X 3 weekends of the month, but his exposure to her lifestyle has been greatly reduced.

was working a nifty 2pm to 10pm shift at allegis group/teksystems, doing b.s. i.t. work and only working about 4 hours a day and goofing off on message boards the other 4 hours, but the shift didn't work well with daycare. bounced around a bit, worked as an insurance adjuster, body-shop asst. mgr, and currently, a carpenter (jack of all trades, master of none).

haven't really gone on any message boards in a few years - even my old rogue's gallery and the boiling pot haven't seen me.

gotta get to bed now, it's pushing 2am. i'll be back - 0=X

You'll probably be able to use PMs much sooner than that, thorman.

Goodnight!

See ya soon!!!

You have really walked through the valley of the shadow of death. I think a lot of you for going through all of that for your child. It's really hard to juggle good child care--and working hours.

Hope (really hope) things smooth out for you soon.

'night.

Yeah. Silly me. I thought Craven could enable a person's PMing if he wanted to-- but if it's connected to a huge, complicated code-- ah, well....

Dunno what Craven will or won't do, but thought I'd share the info (whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's not 50 -- people have been complaining about lack of PMs well beyond that.)

(Welcome, Thorman!)

The friend of mine whose arrival prompted the second thread linked by Soz is no longer able to respond to PM's, so it seems the restrictions on PM'ing continue to get tightened.

Sad, as I think he's given up on A2K as a result.

thorman I went through the same nasty custody battle with my oldest male cub years ago..spent, I'm afraid considerably more than 12,000 but it was worth every penny. Same outcome as yours. Years later, the mom has realized it was for the best and we've buried the hatchet. Good for you.

He couldn't initiate PM's yet, but could respond. Then that ability vaporized. There were a couple of threads/comments around the board when that happened.

For people who are new to this kind of board, the background PM'ing can be a way of getting some help they aren't ready to 'post' for. Oh well. One board's loss is another board's gain. <shrug>
