Sandpaper on her kneeses?

These lyrics came lurching out of the past today...

(Sung to the tune of "Shine Little Glow Worm")

Shine little glow worm glimmer glimmer
Shine little glow worm glimmer glimmer
Her teeth were false and her hair was peroxide
Saw in the moonlight she was cross-eyed
Wrinkles in her dress in the breezes breezes
Proved to be just sandpaper on her kneeses
Oh these are the things that women do
To make me fall in love

Now I'm just wondering what possible reason would someone have sandpaper on their knees or is this some kind of <ahem> reference to a woman of loose character?

LOL, That one's new to me. Maybe she was a floor sander and she worked on all fours.

I seem to remember my mom singing this, which is weird in itself.

I spent many childhood hours reading Mad magazine and always loved the song parodies - I imagine this one might have come from there too.

My brother and I still sing this Columbus ditty to each other:

(To the tune of "Four Leaf Clover")

I had a notion to cross the ocean
That I'd never crossed before
I thought for certain that Asia I'd reach
But now something tells me
I've hit the wrong beach
No silks are sold here
There ain't no gold here
Just rain and disease galore
Oh why did I do it?
I really blew it
When I reached the new world shore

Sandpaper knees = rough/dry skin? The rest of it seems to be saying she seems purty until you look too close...

@boomerang,
Glow little glow worm glimmer glimmer
There sits "Tracy" shimmer shimmer
Her teeth are false and her hairs peroxided
Sittin' in the moonlight she looks lopsided
Ruffles on her bathing suit flapping in the breezes
Looks like sandpaper on her kneeses
Oh what "Tracy" wouldn't do
To make all the boys go woohoo!

Mom used to sing this to us. She subbed in names though
