Name some songs that change completely halfway through the song ...almost as if they were separate songs, sewn together.
some examples:
Paranoid Android - Radiohead
Ordinary Pain - Stevie Wonder
Two examples of songs that really were sewn together from separate bits are the original recording of Layla by Derek and the Dominoes (Clapton) and Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Actually Freebird is almost two and a half songs put together. Vocalist Ronnie Van Zandt had written the middle part and the guys in the band suggested the long guitar solo piece at the end. Then somebody told them one of their roadies had written a lovely piano intro to it and they adopted both the intro and the pianist, Billy Powell.
ALMOST ANY TUNE DONE BY LEO KOTTKE
Hi Jas!
Switch into Glide - The Kingsman (?)
The End - Beatles
Hi Joe!
Interesting info there, Doc thanks.
farmer, you're the third person who has mentioned Leo Kottke to me in the past several months - about time I looked into this guy!
A Day In The Life - Beatles
I'm thinking "A Quick One While He's Away " by the Who. The mini opera has 6 or so parts to it.
And "So What" by Fleetwood Mac has a Layla like section at the end.
