what can be cleared in bankruptcy

I am considering bankruptcy (well, its almost a given right now)...I am recently divorced, and my ex not only ran up his credit but also mine. I was in a position not to argue with him (a violent relationship) and he refused to allow me to work while we were married and also ruined my credit (by insisting it not be paid...after all it wasn't in HIS name!) So...I have a modular home we bought together ($50000) which he defaulted on the payments and it was repossessed (my main reason for bankruptcy) and I am wondering about a few other things...we had bought a computer (in my name) and he stopped the payments. They went and got a court order to get me to make payments. I was served papers and all at the time...can this be cleared in bankruptcy? A friend of mine says if there is a court order to pay it, then it isn't a debt that can be cleared in bankruptcy. I am worried about someone garnishing my paychecks, even after I start the bankruptcy (which is going to be soon). I'm just now getting back on my feet...and trying hard to get a fresh start for myself and my daughter. Any advice will be great.
