Hello everyone. My name is James and now I'm repairing my new house. After buying of this house I've noticed that here is the attic, but there is no access to this attic. So now I'd like to create it. The main problem is a ladder. I don't know which one to chose. Maybe somebody could give me some advice regarding this.

@James89,
I'm sure non-spammy people at Home Depot or Lowe's would be more than happy to help you.

Is there a way to see in there? It's good to know where the electric wires are located before cutting.

@edgarblythe,

@James89,
So odd there's no access. Did you check outside on the ends if the roof?

@PUNKEY,
All I can think of is that we have a number of houses built with a flat roof. Lately, I've seen some with a conventionally pitched roof added later.

@James89,
It sounds like a tall storey so I'd recommend a long ladder.

@James89,
Perhaps you should speak to tbe former owner or builder and just ask where the access panel or door is.

If you look around all of the ceiling space, like in the garage or bedroom closets, you'll see a panel or small door. Many will have a pull down rope which will then open up to a collapsible extension ladder that'll allow access. This, of course, is assuming this is a genuine query,
