Passed away at sixty years old, on the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month of the seventeenth Year of the Kaihuang period of rule (597).
Is 'Passed away at sixty years old' OK? I'd write 'Passed away at sixty'.
Thanks.
'Passed away at sixty' is less formal. 'when sixty years old' or 'at sixty years of age' are more formal.
I didn't think that dying at sixty was really OK because it seemed kind of young. But in 597 AD that was probably a ripe old age.
