I'm curious as to how you inferred that status and updates has to do with his job. There was no mention of a job.

Also, why do you consider updates and changes to be different things?

2. IMO - status would mean if the job was a go or not.
Your job is still on for Thursday. However, we will start at 8 am, not 10 am.
