I'm not counting Petula Clark, born in England of Welsh parentage and brought up as a "Welsh lass", nor Kylie Minogue (Welsh mother), Olivia Newton John (Welsh parentage), Jack Jones (Welsh father), Hank Williams (Welsh parentage), Nanci Griffith (Welsh parentage), David Evans ("The Edge" of U2: too Irish?), David Gray (though brought up in Wales) among others. And i'm not convinced Elvis Presley's family origins were really in the Preseli hills of Pembrokeshire!
A lot of great talent from this tiny land. I'm a skiver from way back having got my A-Levels at Atlantic Ciollege, located near LLantwit Major. I got to meet Edmunds when he played at our school with Love Sculpture I believe.
A coincidence then that it was you who replied also to my thread on Amalia from Portugal! I live near Brecon. We like driving down to the coast by Llantwit Major quite often these days, in fact were there on beautiful New Year's Eve. The cliffs were gold in the sun.
