Hi all! I'm hoping someone on here can help me! In the 1955 movie Sincerely Yours, a Chopin Etude was used as the opening theme song - does anyone know which Etude it was? Thanks!

krugie, Welcome to A2K. I didn't see that movie, but I'm going to take a guess. Fantasy Impromptu. (lyrics set to the classic were, "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows")

Hi Letty,

Thanks for the welcome and the reply. I have downloaded Fantasy Impromptu but it is not the one I was looking for. The piece is quite well known - even for me who are by no means an expert. Somehow I just can't manage to trace it Sad .

Wow! Great, Krugie. Does it have a name other than etude? I'd like to know myself, my friend

That theme was also used in the movie, "Magnificent Obsession", with Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman.

Oh, my Gawd, Phoenix. Thank you; thank you. "No Greater Love". So many of Chopin's etudes were popularized by putting lyrics to them. I love that etude.
