Autonomous IV Insertion Device

Hello. I am an engineering student working on a project to develop a device that: uses near Infrared light to find a vein on a patient's forearm and put the catheter in place, push the catheter through arm tissue until the vein is hit, remove the needle and keep the catheter in place to administer medicine through it.

I'm at the early design stages, and I would appreciate any advice from a medicine perspective or from a user perspective.
