Hello.
I am an English language learner in need help from especially native English speakers. Please, I am looking for a noun-word or any expression used for "bits of food spilt unto the ground out of the plate, by children while eating especially when they are eating carelessly". I looked for it using the expression in quotes on "www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary" , but the tool did not give me what I needed. Thank you in anticipation of your assistance.

When we want to refer to "food spilt by children eating carelessly", we would probably use exactly that phrase.

@iandu76,
Bits of food are often referred to as crumbs, but crumbs are tiny, and there's no specific word for food dropped on the floor, not even floor pie.

Some languages (especially Asian ones) have the ability to express complex ideas in one word, whereas English tends to use phrases.

@iandu76,
You can also use the old word "orts" but, as izzy and centrox point out, you'd have to use it in a phrase to convey the full meaning.

Stop making a mess, stop spilling food, clean up the mess or crumbs/scraps/orts of the food you spilt, etc. These are some of what I learn from you. Thank you all for such useful information and discussion they were tremendously helpful.

I have never heard of the word 'ort' before. I checked. It is shown as "archaic dialect" in dictionaries.

I know. I suggest you do not use it.

So apparently, 'there's no specific word for food dropped on the floor' as Izzy said. Droppings usu refer to poo

@iandu76,
Good. It's usually not a good idea to use words that won't be understood.
