What happened to the product jingle?

My father was responsible for that song, which began with the same notes as the call of the Bobwhite. He worked in the advertising dept. of Lever Bros., back in the day when it was in Cambridge, Mass. (He also came up with the foghorn B-O sound for Lifebuouy soap.)

If I believed in gods, I would thank them every day for the invention of the mute button and DVRs.

Thanks for reviving this thread, roger!

I just realized that I sat through 8 (more?) season of "Mad Men" just to see a fictionalized account of how Coca-Cola's famous "I'd like to teach the world to sing" jingle came about...

Not so much a jingle but an entire song, unfortunately the beer's pretty naff.

Ad for Domestos (toilet cleaner) to the air of Big Bad John:

Kinda broad at the shoulder, slim at the hip
No other cleaner is better equipped
It's strong and it's tough and it sure is mean
Kills all known germs to keep your bathroom clean
Big Dom (Biiig Dommmm)
Some call 'em bathrooms, some call 'em loos
Some are avacado, others are blue...

Forget the rest.
