What happened to the product jingle?

My father was responsible for that song, which began with the same notes as the call of the Bobwhite. He worked in the advertising dept. of Lever Bros., back in the day when it was in Cambridge, Mass. (He also came up with the foghorn B-O sound for Lifebuouy soap.)

My uncle was involved in the development of this--an animated commercial:

interesting side note... Barry Manilow's number one personal revenue producing song?"You deserve a break today...etc."

If I believed in gods, I would thank them every day for the invention of the mute button and DVRs.

I just realized that I sat through 8 (more?) season of "Mad Men" just to see a fictionalized account of how Coca-Cola's famous "I'd like to teach the world to sing" jingle came about...
