I wasn't going to do cards this year, but then when I talked to my mother last weekend, I started to feel guilty, and thought I'd do it at the last minute. I guess it's really not that big a deal. It just pisses me off.

Italian mothers' guilt is rivaled only by jewish mothers' guilt.

I get a lot of cards on the 26th. On the other hand, I don't write mine until New Year's...

(makes them all owe ME one, typically passive aggressive)..

kidding, I'm just not so tied to dates anymore.

I love writing cards and I love receiving cards.
In times of emails and phone calls, it's just a nicer
way to say "I'm thinking of you".

One year, I made all my christmas cards myself, oh
I got so much feedback, and suprisingly some still have
the "home made" card.

Christmas is the season of love, if even a card is too
much, that should tell us something.

Kicky, aren't you in the design field?

I get a lot of positive feedback for homemade cards too, could be they're lying of course, but seems like you have the wherewithal to whip something up that'd be both nice and homemade.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing something today at work. If I have the time. But I probably won't, because I'm lazy.

One year I sent everybody a Christmas cassette with a bunch of Christmas songs on it that I and a couple friends of mine wrote and recorded at their apartment. My song "Bobby's Christmas" was a big hit with my family and friends.

"Bobby left when he was nine
took off on a subway line
now he's sleeping in subway cars
So just think how lucky...you are"

"Oh, Bobby's Christmas ain't gonna be so fine..."

I can't remember the rest of it right now, but it just got more and more ridiculously depressing from there...damn, I should look for that tape!

And they don't already know that about you? Twisted Evil

Just send the blasted cards already ... or not. Or send the e-cards as has been previously suggested.

How about this sentiment?

"Ho, Ho, Ho: yes, I'm talking to you, Ma."

or

"Have a f***ing great time, but, of course you won't ... because I won't be there."

Very Happy
