Dashes and Spaces in Email Subject Line. Do we need them ?

Dear forum,

I wrote an email recently and I been doing this for quite some time. Let's say I have been doing this for a few years but no one said anything until as of recent. Here is how I usually write my email subject headings:

Address(Request-What it is-Trade)
Example: 123 Worth St.(Request-Proposal-HVAC)

Does this require spaces between the words and dahses such as Request, Proposal, and HVAC per grammatically requirements suggest or leave it as is?
123 Worth St. (Request - Proposal - HVAC)<--- ???

Thank you,
Philip

@jbelle7435,
It's not really a grammatical issue; it's a sense issue. You want whoever you are writing to, you want that person to know what the subject of your email is about.

Using hyphens or dashes doesn't really matter, so long as the recipient can understand what you mean and the email address isn't misspelled.

@jespah,
so in this case an email subject heading which is not typical writing, this is not a big deal it seems as long as the reader confirms what the email is about and not worry about the spaces. . Can anyone confirm if this is then unprofessional or should I confirm that on another forum then?

@jbelle7435,
So, someone told you it was unprofessional?

If it was a higher-up then follow what they've suggested or ordered.

If it was a colleague then take it with a grain of salt.

Why, exactly, is it unprofessional? They probably meant to say that it is unprofessional because it is incomprehensible or inarticulate.
