Some people (many) are starting to say they can no longer get their email from outlook. It's now a service you have to pay for.
I'm just wondering how many other people have had this happen?
It works fine for me and several of my friends. To me, hotmail is hanging by a thread in keeping its customers, so taking this away would be a wrong move. Yahoo and Gmail have hotmail owned, imo.
Jo, no problem here so far.
Never heard of any such thing.

Don't lose your account settings then.
Free Hotmail ceased to support Outlook Express access. I haven't had any problems with accounts with existing OE configurations but have not been able to setup any new ones on any platform.
Here is some text (cough-bullshit-cough) from their online help:
Quote:To protect our users from the increasing amount of unsolicited junk e-mail or spam sent from MSN Hotmail accounts through Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express, we have reluctantly had to restrict the new use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express to subscribers.
Ah, thanks for the info. I just created a test account & verified as much.
No problem here with Outlook. There was a problem about a week ago when Norton got over-jealous about email protection & I couldn't post from Outlook. For a short time I had to turn my email scanning to OFF to post. But it's OK now.
(My, Craven, you are looking attractive today!)
